1993: DE Wilhelms: To a Rocky Moon: A Geologist’s History of Lunar Exploration.
The dust jacket contains a blurb (from me!) calling this book “the Double Helix of the Moon”, for like that classic account for the quest for DNA, this is a personal book that discusses the people and ideas that took us to the Moon. Don discusses why and how each landing site was selected. This wonderful story brings life to the bureaucratic history told by Compton (1989).
