Greek Moon
image by " rel="nofollow George Tarsoudis, Alexandroupolis, Greece
Today George is giving a " rel="nofollow talk about the Moon to children and adults in his hometown of Alexandroupolis, Greece. He will give this " rel="nofollow map to all who attend, marking in Greek the Apollo landing sites, and in English, others. I know that a number of lunar aficionados make presentations about the Moon, including Howard in Florida, Bill in Ohio, and probably dozens or even hundreds of others in our international LPOD family. I used to do a lot, and now only a few, but I always consider it important, to help normal people, unlike us lunatics, to understand the beauty and scientific bounty we have in the Moon. I am always amazed that there are millions of bird watchers on the planet but far fewer with a guide book and binoculars to point at the Moon. Hopefully, George will ignite a passion for the Moon this evening that will guide some students to become scientists and more adults to be more scientifically literate citizens.
