Here is the shot that nearly wasn’t! I have loads of close-ups of the total eclipse but just as the excitement of totality was nearly over I realised that one of the amazing aspects of the event was the fact that I could see so many faint stars in the sky. The dew content of the air was high on eclipse night and many of my camera lenses had fogged up on the inside, rendering them useless. However I managed to find one that I could still use and took this picture of the over-exposed fully eclipsed Moon in the constellation of Leo the lion, with Saturn visible to the right of the frame.

March 3, 2007, 23:58 UT. Full frame: Canon 10D DSLR. 60s @ ISO800 with a 28mm f/3.5 lens. Insert: Vixen FL102S f/9 refractor + Canon 20Da DSLR camera at the prime focus, 6s shot at ISO400.
