40 Years Later

LPOD-Sept12-13.jpg
south up image and drawing by Leo Aerts, Belgium

In the seventies I made a lot of lunar drawings because photographic attempts gave very poor results. I thought it would be a good idea to forward you an example of today's imaging compared to the drawing result of the same lunar region, forty years earlier. Herewith a very recent imaging result of Piton compared with a drawing I made in 1973 with my 4" Unitron refractor. At that time I only needed a white piece of paper, drawing pencil and a gummi as correction tool.

CAW Note: I think this is the only the second time that an LPOD has featured a drawing and an image from the same person - does anyone know the first time?
